The Posse is looking for worthy opportunities to serve up gumbo within about six hours drive from Metairie.  Please contact Kreig White at KWhiteBean@aol.com if you know of a good opportunity to round up the posse.

Kreig White reports:
Trip to Springhill, March 29:

St. Catherine may soon become The Patron Saint of gumbo.  She saw us off Sat.
before the rain hit New Orleans and sent us to Mobile which showed us a
perfect day for gumbo.  Dave Robards made his first voyage along with
Jean-Paul Bujol who helped us cut the veggies.  Jim Whitney also met us
there, and it was good to see him.  We had 3 presidents on this trip--Steve
Bujol, Louie, and Jim Whitney.  Dave fit in like the thumb fits on the right
hand.  We served and cleaned up about 5:30 just as the rain started in
Mobile.  All in all it  was a good trip.

History of the Gumbo Posse:

The Gumbo Posse started four years ago when the tornadoes hit Nashville.  At that time Tim Durand got a few SCSMC members together to go feed the sheriff deputies in Nashville.  We ventured to Panama City after the hurricane there.  After Jim Illg passed away we went to Rice University on Nov 3, and our next trip looks to be Springhill College on Feb 22.  Membership in The Posse is open to all SCSMC's  members if they wish to join.  Tim is our founder, Steve Bujol is our spiceman. I am the janitor and custodian, Louie Bievenue is our navigator, and Steve Hebert and Paul Bates are coming on our trip to Springhill.  Duncan Blue's daughter is putting together our 5th trip to LSU  about Mar.23.  All members of St. Catherine's  and their famlies are welcome at all of our outings to come and get a bowl of gumbo, rice, french or garlic bread and some sort of dessert.  Please come and join us in Mobile Saturday Feb 23.
